Ulyana Kuzyk
A Junior Lieutenant of the 67th Separate Mechanized Brigade. Entrepreneur, volunteer, and founder of a charitable foundation.
Author of the short story “It All Began with Maidan” in the collection Stories of Warriors, in which she recounts her journey from volunteering to military service. It is a story of years of support for the front, finding her place, and the inner readiness to make the decision to become a soldier.
Military path
Since the ATO period, she has been a military volunteer, supporting the Ukrainian Volunteer Corps “Right Sector.”
She has served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine from 2024 to the present.
She signed a contract with the 67th Separate Mechanized Brigade, the unit she has worked with since its formation.
Her first assignment was in the Engineering and Sapper Support Group (GIS). Later, she moved to the brigade’s Recruitment Center, where she is responsible for selecting future defenders.
Reflecting on her path, she says:
“The funniest and happiest moment in the war is how much I wanted to get there and how hard I had to work to make it happen.”

Civilian Path
Entrepreneur and founder of a charitable foundation.
She established the social café “Basilik”, which, from the beginning of the full-scale invasion, became a volunteer hub.
She organized humanitarian missions to recaptured cities such as Bucha and Irpin; collaborated with foreign volunteers and international organizations; and took part in meetings focused on supporting Ukraine abroad.
Her years of work have included supplying the military with equipment, medical supplies, vehicles, and gear, while simultaneously providing assistance to civilian communities.

I love Ukraine very much.
